Hi I'm Heather

I live in Utah. I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

A bit about me. I played soccer in high school and I love being outside. I also love to read books. I play the piano and the violin and have a deep love for music of all kinds. I am trying to decide which college to attend currently, and in the meantime, I am going to serve a full time mission to Milan, Italy for the LDS church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me truly happy. I was born into this church, meaning I have attended all my life. I have never known any different. But I have come to learn and believe the teachings of the Mormon church for myself. I no longer go because I have to. I have prayed and have come to find the truthfulness of the teachings I have been taught my whole life. Living the standards the church has provided me with a happiness I wouldn't be able to find anywhere else. I know that this church is the only true church on this earth today. I know the Book of Mormon is all true. Not just parts of it, but all of it. I can feel the spirit confirming this within me and there is no way I can doubt.

How I live my faith

As I just graduated from high school, I don't currently have a calling within the church. I am leaving on my mission in two months, so I am trying to prepare by going to church and studying the scriptures and various gospel doctrines. However, while I was in high school, I was the president of the Laurels class, which are the girls 16-18 years of age. I was also called to be a Family History Consultant.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

It is strongly encouraged that all young men within the church serve a mission. The minimal age for young men to serve is 18 years old, and for young women it is 19. However, young women aren't required to serve a mission. But if they feel it is the right thing to do when they reach that age, they are more than welcome to serve. Church members consider it a privilege to show their love for other people and the Lord by sharing the gospel. Retired seniors, men, women, and married couples can also serve missions.
