Hi I'm Jacklyn Leigh Thurston

I'm a cosmetologist and esthetician. I'll be leaving to serve a mission in Knoxville, Tennessee. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Jacklyn and I grew up in Utah, raised as a Mormon. I went to school for cosmetology and and have been doing hair for two years. During that time I went to school for esthetics and just graduated with my license. I like to read, go camping, and spending time with friends and family. family is very important to me and I love every minute I am with them. I am now leaving on a mission to Knoxville, Tennessee and am so excited!

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in this church but I also had to find out for myself if this church is true. I am so blessed that I was raised and grew up in this church and it was always there to help me through everything in my life. But I think everyone in this church, even if they grew up in it, has their own conversion story themselves. I always knew that I would find happiness in the church but I also learned the hard way. There was a point in my life where I wasn't following the commandments and wasn't making the best choices in my life. During that period I realized how unhappy I was I realized how amazing and blessed I was to be in the church. When I dropped all those things I was doing that were making me unhappy I realized how happy the church made me. That alone helped me understand that the church was true. Of course there were other things that confirmed that the church was true but that was a big one for. those little things though helped me as well. Whenever I would feel the spirit during a talk in church or while I was reading my scriptures, whenever I would receive and answer when I would pray, all of those things confirmed how amazing and true this church is.

How I live my faith

I attend church weekly in my singles ward. I pray and read my scriptures every day. I will be attending the temple to make sacred covenants today. I am preparing to leave on a mission to Knoxville, Tennessee where I will be sharing the gospel with others for the next 18 months.
