Hi I'm Nathan Q Spencer

I'm a working father of four beautiful children. I'm husband to a wonderful woman. I love the Lord Jesus Christ, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born to wonderful parents who met on the campus of what is now known as BYU-Idaho. I grew up in Magna Utah with my family as my closest friends. I love my mother, and she has been a wonderful example to me of service, and dedication. I served a mission in Minneapolis Minnesota, which I lovingly refer to as 'the greatest mission on earth,' and I saw the Lord working miracles, and showing his love to his children. I work in accounting and have worked in several different roles, including human resource, accounts payable and receivable, assistant controller, and chief financial officer. I enjoy being part of a good team. I enjoy serving in the gospel, and devoting time to the purpose that I believe I've been sent to accomplish in my lifetime. I love everything about the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was young I watched my parents give time and energy to the Lord, with a tireless energy. I could see the joy in their faces, and in their life. It meant a lot to them, and I could tell. I saw the goals of the church and felt that what they were teaching and doing was good. I have seen the Lords hand in my own life, in miracles, and in my heart. I have read the Book of Mormon myself, reflected on it, and have prayed to know if it is true. God has made it known to me that it is. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and saw Jesus Christ and God the father. I've had this truth confirmed to me. The more I learn about Joseph, the more I love him, and see a man motivated to serve the God he personally knew. I know that Thomas S Monson is the prophet of God, and the prophets before him, spoke with and received direction from God. They are called to be watch guards over all God's children in these days. As I served on my mission, I felt God’s love. I know it extends to all the creations of his hands. I watched as people turned to Him, and served him. Where they once had darkness and despair, they now had light. In the church, even though the people are imperfect, there is a model of heaven. We work together to help bring peace, joy, and love to this struggling world. We grow together, and come to love each other more. We learn to forgive, bear our trials, and to become like a family. We become fellow citizens with all those striving to be saints of God. It is a beautiful community of people, striving to be like, Jesus Christ. It is extremely difficult to express, in few words, what I feel in my heart. Some things must be learned, and experienced individually and in each person’s heart. I am a convert, and I know Jesus Christ lives. I know he is the promised Messiah, the Redeemer of Israel, and the most heroic being to grace the face of this planet. I will spend my days strengthening my brethren, and serving wherever Jesus Christ needs me. I love Him!!!

How I live my faith

There are opportunities to help in the community everywhere. I participate actively in our local election caucus meetings, and am a emergency response volunteer in the CERT program of our city. I have had the privilege, most recently, to serve a local charter of the Boy Scouts of America, as a scoutmaster in our ward. It's wonderful to work with the incredible young men. I help teach them in their church meetings, and do what I can to give them spiritually strengthening, and uplifting experiences in scouting. It's great to see how the young men I work with are enjoying time in the snow, rain, storm, or sunshine. I have great hope for them. They are on course to be fantastic citizens, fathers, and providers for their families. I visit several families once a month, as part of my hometeaching assignment, in an effort to watch over and strengthen them. I have felt a closeness to those families as we've spent time together, and afterwards. I have had the blessing of being able to serve in many capacities in the Lords church including, choir director, stake music chairman, nursery worker, mission preparation teacher, gospel principles teacher, ward missionary, ward mission leader, elders quorum instructor, young men's president, and scoutmaster. I've also served on special committee's and volunteered for many assignments related to church and community service. It is the most delightful and wonderful of anything I've experienced in my life. In fact, serving the Lord is my interest, it is my joy, it is my love, and the sweet blessings that have come from it are worth more than all the treasures of the earth to me.
