Hi I'm Scott

I grew up on a Dairy farm of 60 cows, I have lived in Texas, California & Utah. Love Geography & the great out doors. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have a Masters Degree in Geography and love to see things. I have had the wonderful opportunity to travel to the Philippines, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Sierra Leone on Church Service Missions. I have learned that all people value one important thing "Families". In all of these countries, parents just wanted the best for all their children. I thank my Father in Heaven for this wonderful opportunity. I have never gotten away from my love of working on the farm and my Dad's influence that all things should be orderly and look neat regardless of how old or what it was. It's all God's creations and we should take care of it regardless of what it is or where it goes. I like being around animals and petting them ( Had to be careful about that in Africa!). I used to love my pet cow, Whitey and the other animals we had. I love being married to my special companion and the opportunity to share my life with her. We have been blessed with six wonderful children and so far nine grand children. What a special plan this is of our Heavenly Father and which is patterned after his life. I work towards the example the Father's son, Jesus Christ, established for us. He is my example and Savior and I know he was resurrected and lives today in his resurrected body. He helps us follow his example and have the opportunity to return to live with our Father and his Father. I know this to be true by the study of the scriptures and prayer. May all who read this seek this same knowledge.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, but had to understand and find out about the beliefs for myself. I could never see anything that was contrary to the scriptures or the Savior's example in the examples around me or in my study. It was though prayer that I know by the manifestation of the Holy Ghost that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is his church as it was when he was here upon the earth. I have had too many wondrous things happen to me in my life to not know this. The nickname is "Mormon" and I am glad to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and to be known by the nickname as a "Mormon".

How I live my faith

I tried to be a good child as a youth and as the last child in the family enjoyed working with my Father side by side on our Dairy farm. He was a great example to me of being self sustaining, utilizing what God had given our family until it was used up and being a good provider. I did have quite a challenge as a youth with a serious stuttering problem. It was not until I served as a youth to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and of his divinity as our Savior in Texas that I was able to overcome this. It was a great blessing to me as I feel the Savior and my Heavenly Father want me to share this message with his children. I have enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts of America with our young men youth groups. It was a great excuse to get outdoors. What a great program to share with all the wonders of our Heavenly Father's creations and how our world functions. Again it has helped me be careful with our Father's creations and those things he has provided for our existence on this earth. I have had the wonderful opportunity to attend "Woodbadge", the training for senior leaders for the Boy Scouts of America. I have also been able to serve four times on staff for other "Woodbadge" courses. I try to be a good Father and Husband and follow the example of our Savior. His life is what we want to become like and can as he allows us to repent and move forward as best we can. I love the scriptures, even thought I am not a good reader, and love to see the many examples he has given us to follow and to be like him. He is the Savior of the world and his life is the example for all of us.
