Hi I'm Tammy

I'm a personal trainer, gym owner, mother of two, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and a mother to two little girls ages 5 and 7. Me and my husband own a personal training studio and Love what we do. I love educating and helping people to take care of the only gift they get to keep their whole life... their body.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have received personal revelation that Jesus Christ lives and died for us. This is available to all of us and we need only ask. (Book of Mormon; 1 Nephi 10:17-19 ...by the power of the Holy ghost, which is the gift of God unto all those who diligently seek him, as well in times of old as in the time that he should manifest himself unto the children of men. For he is the same yesterday, to-day and forever; and the way is prepared for all men from the foundation of the world, if it so be that they repent and come unto him. For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them by the power of the Holy Ghost..) I prayed for myself to know the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and I see the mysteries of God unfolding in my life on a continual basis. I see how happy it has made me and my family since I have come back to the church. I now understand how obedience brings me blessings instead of restrictions. This was hard for me at first because it felt like I had to give up so many things, but I see how I am blessed for doing what he asks. I am amazed at how so many people in this church freely and lovingly give their time and energy to serve others and am Proud to be one of them.

How I live my faith

I am not a convert to the church, but was away for many years before I came back. At first it was hard to come back to the church because I was drinking daily and not living in the manner I wanted my girls to emulate. Since I have come back I have been able to quit drinking alcohol, coffee and tea. I have noticed the tremendous peace that has come to my life by letting my light shine as Christ would have me do. By living my life through obedience to our Heavenly father my life is filled with Joy and Peace. My husband is not a member yet, but comes to church with us every week. He has seen how much it has strengthened our family and is a major fan. I have a calling in the church to be the Preparedness Specialist. I teach how important it is to be prepared for Disasters that may arise like earthquakes, etc. to keep your family safe and more self sufficient in an Emergency.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom was given through revelation to Joseph Smith in 1833, and can be found in Doctrine and Covenants Chapter 89 in the Book of Mormon. It guides and directs us to obedience and promises that as we do we shall receive health and find wisdom and great treasures of knowledge. Guidelines include eating fruits and vegetables in their season, abstaining from drinking alcohol, coffee and tea, refraining from using illegal drugs.... These things help us to keep our bodies strong and Healthy. Show more Show less
