Hi I'm Conner James Thornton

I grew up in Henderson, Nevada. I am about to serve a mission for the Church in Macon, Georgia. I love to sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Conner and I I have blonde hair and bluish green eyes. I am a huge choir guy. I love to sing, mainly pop and jazz. I am currently serving a mission in the Macon, Georgia Mission I am an Eagle Scout. I love to read books. My favorite genres are Sci-Fi and Fantasy. My favorite Book of Mormon story is the story of the Conversion of Alma the Younger. After my mission I plan to attend BYU Provo. I also love to play soccer. Science and math are my strongest subjects. I also attended Nevada Boy's State.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church. I have been going ever since I was a little kid. It was just another part of my schedule. it wasn't until I was 16 that I decided to go of my own accord and that I gained my own testimony instead of riding along on others. When I was 16 I was going to EFY for the second time. EFY is like a church camp that occurs for one week over the summer. There are different session that occur at different colleges around the United States. On Thursday we had a testimony meeting after one of the dances. It was there for the first time that felt and recognized the spirit. Some of the other youth shared experiences of when they were younger. They said that they had suffered from extreme depression and that some had contemplated suicide. I was touched that these people would share these experiences with me and it also showed me that I wasn't the only one who had suffered through depression and suicidal thoughts. That was when I first felt the spirit touch my heart and I have constantly felt his presence since then. The Lord has been a constant guide throughout my life. As I have been serving a mission, these beliefs that I know to be true have only increased. You can see it touch people, and you can see their lives change for the better. I know that this is the restored gospel. It makes absolute sense that our Heavenly Father continues to love and nurture us. Being bless with that knowledge I have attained, all I desire to do now while on my mission is to share that happiness and light that I have received.

How I live my faith

I am a youth in my ward and do my best to come to church every Sunday. I study my scriptures and pray daily. I recently was a leader in my designated age youth group. I home teach with a fellow brother to other ward members. I am going to serve a Mission in Macon, Georgia for two years. The youth group does many service projects for others in the neighborhood.
