Hi I'm John

I grew up in Kearns, Utah. I have five siblings. My mother is from Brazil. I graduated with my Associate's Degree. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am just about to leave on my mission to Lisbon, Portugal. I have recently graduated from high school. I graduated from high school with my Associate's Degree. I see that as one of my greatest accomplishments so far. I plan on working on my Bachelor's Degree when I return from my mission. Right now I am planning to study biotechnology in college and begin a career in the biotechnology research field. I enjoy playing basketball with my friends and family. I enjoy watching TV. I also like to write stories. When I was younger, I had a very active imagination, and because of that it was my dream to be an author of fictional novels. The most important things in my life are my family and the church. I have three brothers and two sisters. My mom is from Brazil, and my dad is from Utah. My dad also went to Portugal on his mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a member of Christ's Church. The reasons why I continue to follow His gospel are because it is true, and because I want to be happy and want those around me to be happy. I know that this is the true Church. I have felt God's presence while participating in His work. I know that we are children of God, and I know that He desires us to be happy. God gave His son to suffer and die for us that we may be able to live with Him again if we repent and follow Him. I have been blessed as I have followed the Lord, and I know that I will be able to receive even greater blessings in the future. I want others to obtain these blessings, and because of this, I try to be a good example and I will try to share with others the knowledge that I have. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I have had various callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Throughout my teenage years I was called to preside over my youth groups. This involved planning activities, asking people to fulfill certain responsibilities, and watching over each member of the group. I was also called to represent the youth of my ward in Stake Youth Committee. In this committee we planned activities that we could do with all of the youth of the stake. I also live my faith everyday by acting in the way that I believe Christ would act. I try to be kind and helpful. I try to stand up for what is right and share my beliefs. I am now living my faith by leaving my home to go and serve an LDS Mission. I will share the gospel with those who are interested, and I will do what I am directed to do.
