Hi I'm James Brazell

I'm from Utah. I've been called on a mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the church. From eighth grade on, I began playing drums and percussion, becoming involved heavily with jazz band, pep bands, philharmonic orchestra and stage band, and even a few rock bands. I have completed high school and plan on attending college in about two and a half years. I have a mission call that comes first, though.

Why I am a Mormon

Many boys of my age, demographic, and background are part of the LDS church by default- simply because their parents and friends are. During middle school and high school, I began to discover what it meant to have my faith challenged, and had to build my testimony through fervent testimony and prayer. I discovered that I was not happy without the gospel in my life, that without the gospel I felt detached from my life. I never had a moment of shocking, loud revelation, but over the course of time I came to realize what I now know- That this church I am apart teaches true doctrine, that the principles that I am asked to live by bring me close to my family, the Savior and my Father in heaven, and it makes me happier than anything else in the world.

How I live my faith

I have been called as leadership for the Aaronic priesthood throughout my youth. I have been involved in the presidencies of the Deacons and Teachers quorums and been an assistant to the bishop. This has given me the opportunity to plan activities and coordinate service projects in our area, to teach, to work after and serve my quorum members and ward members, and to administer some ordinances such as the sacrament.
