Hi I'm Luke

I was born in North Carolina and grew up in Texas. I recently graduated from high school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in North Carolina. I have 2 older brothers and 2 older sisters. I graduated high school and I am about to serve on a 2 year mission for the LDS church and will be leaving my 2 loving parents as empty nesters. I play guitar and have been since I was 13. I love to listen to Rock music. I also love movies and I enjoy running from time to time. My favorite sport to play and watch is tennis, even though I could still be considered a novice. After my mission I will be attending Brigham Young University.

Why I am a Mormon

As I have mentioned, I have always been a part of this gospel. As the youngest in my family I have had the blessing of being able to watch both my parents and all of my siblings live it, and follow Christ. I am lucky to have such a faithful family, even my extended family is full of active members of His church. Watching their examples have made me a firm believer in the truth of our faith. Because of my family I have always had an overwhelming amount of testimonies to help shape and build my own. I have read the Book of Mormon and through prayer I have come to know that it is true and the events in them are real. I have come to know the truth of our Prophets and love them too. I feel Christ with me whenever I need Him, and even when I'm unaware, I know He is here with me, and can be with all of us through the power of the Holy Ghost. I love the Savior and wish that I could fully comprehend the great love He has for us and the gravity of the sacrifice He made. I know that families can be together forever and that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ work for the sole purpose of bringing all of us, their children, back to them in the Celestial Kingdom to be part of their great Heavenly Family. I know all of these things are true. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have been attending The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since I was born. Though I have only recently graduated from the youth program, as a youth I was able to serve in several different callings and responsibilities. I have been the President of 2 individual youth groups within the church, as well as a secretary. I also had the privilege of serving on a youth council as a representative for my congregation in the area. I have been a home teacher with my Dad as my companion as well. That was a great experience for me, to be able to learn from his service and to learn how to serve families for myself. In a few days, I leave for Provo, Utah at the Missionary Training Center to become a missionary and serve for 2 years. I am very excited to be able to do this and share my love of the Savior with others. I hope to bring them the joy that I have come to know and I hope that they will be able to accept this great gift of the gospel and eventually recieve the blessings that come through the priesthood and through the temples.
