Hi I'm Cassie Rogers
I am a lifelong Oregonian, I have been called to serve in the Mexico Ciudad Juarez mission, and I am a Mormon.
About Me
I love being surrounded by green and trees, making the Pacific Northwest the perfect home for me, but I also really like traveling to and exploring new places with my friends and family. I just finished my first year of college and am now preparing for my mission, where I will be sharing the gospel in the Spanish language. I enjoy playing soccer, basketball, and volleyball as well as playing all sorts of board and card games. I'm a little competitive, but I try not to let that get in the way of the true purpose of the game: quality time with people I care about.
Why I am a Mormon
I have grown up with the gospel in my home, but although that is what started me on the path to becoming a member of this church, it is not the only reason I continue to live it. One of the first things I gained a testimony of was that I am a daughter of God. I came to know this by reading the words of prophets, by praying with sincere intent, by living the way that a daughter of God would live, and by listening to the Spirit who confirmed this truth to me. I have continued to follow this pattern of personal study to help me gain a testimony of Jesus Christ and His gospel. This has allowed me to find greater purpose and direction in life. I have so much hope and peace because of the gospel, because I know that death is not the end and that mistakes can be forgiven and that trials and temptations can be overcome through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I am so grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and to have the opportunity to learn and grow in the gospel each day.
How I live my faith
No matter what position I am called to, I try to be an active participant in activities and church meetings, and I try to get others to participate as well. At times I have been in charge of organizing events or teaching my peers, but probably the most important way that I have fulfilled my callings and lived my faith has been through reaching out to others with love and service. Whether it be making a visit to someone's apartment or sitting next to someone who looks lonely at church, trying to find ways to be more Christlike in everyday living is a way to live my faith.
