Hi I'm Leata Wilson

I am a computer science major and an ASL minor. I am a Polynesian/Asian. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Leata but everyone calls me Lee because it is much easier to pronounce. I was born and raised in the church. I was born in the beautiful island of Samoa but raised in the green country of New Zealand. I am currently in college majoring in computer science and minor in ASL. My hobbies consists of reading, sports, board games and spending a lot of time with siblings. Because I grew up with 11 siblings, I learned that it is really hard to avoid each other and that doing things together, no matter what it is, makes it that much more fun and it also helps to strengthen our relationship with each other. I love to make others laugh because seeing the smiles on their faces just brings happiness to myself. When I am with those I love, 95% of the time we're laughing, this is something that others identify me with, someone who is always smiling or laughing. Because our smiles is our best accessory, I feel that it should be worn at all times.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Simple, because it is happiness. It brings me happiness, it brings my family happiness. It teaches about eternal family and that is the most important thing to me, to be with my family for eternity. The gospel has blessed my family with so much and it is just amazing to see how it has helped to develop and build each individual in my home. We do not have much but with the gospel, I feel like I have everything. I once brought my best over to my home one time and she told me something that will stay with me forever, she said, "You're family is so poor, but always so happy, my family has a lot of money, but we are never happy." I testify of the happiness the gospel can bless families with. I testify of the many blessings the gospel has in store for families. I know families are forever. I love the gospel and I love my Heavenly Father and his divine son Jesus Christ. I know he lives and that he is our eternal companion. I love my family and I testify of the blessings the gospel has prepared for families, in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is through my calling as a family home evening coordinator in my ward. I love my calling so much because family home evening is something that brings people together and strengthens relationships with one another. Seeing this every Monday night and witnessing the smiles on many faces is the greatest blessing that I get from my calling. Our Heavenly Father taught us through the scriptures that if we are in the service of our fellow being then we are in the service of our God, this is a huge motivation for me to do well in my calling and I know that if I keep this little phrase in mind, I will always radiate the spirit of my Heavenly Father through every little act of service I do for the others.
