Hi I'm Doniel Wolfe

I'm an Alaskan. I'm a military spouse. I'm a mom. I'm a best friend. I'm a Labradoodle lover. I'm a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the spouse of a very good-looking Airman & mom of six pretty cool kids...plus two Australian Labradoodles. I am a special education teacher & work some of the most amazing students you could ever imagine. I love spending time with my family- someone with the last name Wolfe is always pushing the bounds of ridiculousness & I LOVE to laugh. I like deep-sea fishing for halibut & salmon fishing (especially reds & silvers). One of my favorite activities is hiking with my dogs, Sara Lee & Olamar. There are few experiences more spiritual than walking in the woods on an Alaskan winter night with a full moon & the snow muffling the sounds of the world. I love Christmas movies (regardless of time of year), free wi-fi, cocoa (which works out since there is almost always free wi-fi at every place I like to buy cocoa), fountain drinks with crushed ice (not cubed), Miche purses (no, I don't sell them), camping, fire pits, camping with firepits, doing the Thriller dance, & scaring the dickens out of my two 18-year-old boys. Two of our kids are adopted & I am hoping to adopt at least one more before we move into the grandparent phase of life. As a lifelong military dependent, I have moved over 17 times & expect at least a couple more before we finally decide to retire. I feel incredibly blessed. Though life has provided a heaping helping of hard knocks, the Lord has blessed me immensely. Between my family, my job, & indoor plumbing, I am a very, very fortunate soul.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a semi-active member of another religion & have always been drawn to religion, attending many services on my own, even as a young child. I attended parochial elementary school & while I enjoyed many of the stories & ideas presented, I never really believed much of what was taught. Though I continued to attend church, I never seemed able to alleviate my doubts...despite that being what I wanted more than anything in the world. After meeting a friend who told me about the "elders," I had an unexpected & unbelievable meeting with them the same day at the local mall. From the moment they placed the Book of Mormon in my hands, I knew it was true. My doubts still come once in a while, but now I have my testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon to fall back on. Is God real? Is Christ my savior? Is Joseph Smith a prophet? Yes- it is all true, BECAUSE the Book of Mormon is true! To have the faith now that I wanted so much for so long is the greatest blessing of my life.

How I live my faith

I hope that I live my faith through my service to both my family & community. I currently work in an organization that serves over 100 young women ages 12-18. Our goal is to build a Christ-centered program that helps these young women come to a knowledge of their divine identity as daughters of God & to recognize the influence of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
