Hi I'm Brad

I grew up in Southern Utah the oldest of 5 children. I have worked as a business executive and financial advisor. I am a Mormon."

About Me

I live in Orem, Utah. I love to share time with my family. I have been married to my wonderful wife Shirley for over 47 wonderful years. We have five children. Three are married and two are single. Due to health problems with cancer and leukemia, we only have one granddaughter who is the joy of our lives. I love music and have played in a rock band since I was a teenager. I also enjoy being in the mountains and spending time with family at our cabin. Professionally I have been employed as an executive in the Utility industry for 28 years; an economic development director for the City of Orem Utah for 15 years; and a financial advisor for the last 12 years. I started my career as a financial advisor in the evenings initially and have been doing it full time for the last three years. I love mentoring families and businesses. I started a technology business incubator center with the volunteer help of business professionals in our community. It has been a great success. If you want to contact me my full name is Brad Whittaker and my email is bradw@fiber.net

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to a sweet mother who is a member of the "Mormon Church." Even with her wonderful service and teaching, I had to go through my own conversion process. After much prayer, fasting and study, I have received a very special answer that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints or the "Mormon Church" is truly the restored gospel of Jesus Christ from when he was on earth. I love Jesus and know he wants us to be happy and have eternal lives as families. I believe heavenly Father and Jesus care about us and that they still want to guide us through our personal prayers and through direction given to prophets today as in the past. I am far from perfect in following the teachings of Jesus and I am grateful for his atoning sacrifice that we might have eternal life. I love to serve others and find I am most happy when following the teachings of Jesus.

How I live my faith

I love being involved in our community and have been in the Orem Kiwanis Club for over 27 years doing service projects for the children and youth of our community. I have also serviced on the board and as chairman of the board for the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Commission for Economic Development in Orem. In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints or the "Mormon Church" as known by many, I have served in teaching adults, youth and children gospel principles and how to follow the example and teachings of the prophets and our savior Jesus Christ. Since our church is a volunteer church, I have also served in leadership and clerical support activities. We have also been involved in humanitarian support efforts for those in need.
