Hi I'm Ashley

I grew up in Orange County, California. I have been called to serve in Lisbon Portugal. I run XC & Track for BYU. And I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a Sophomore at BYU. I run Cross Country and Track for them. I love it so much. Every week I would go out at 9 am in the morning to go speak to 5th graders about keeping your body healthy and clean. I had the opportunity to go speak at youth conference's which was so neat to me. I love the outdoors and being active all the time. I love cooking, cleaning, organizing and baking. I am so excited to go out and touch the lives of others.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my whole life. I was baptized at 8 years old and have ever since grown a sure knowledge that this church is true. Growing up in this church has taught me many things. My life is not perfect and I have gone through many trials, but I have learned to have faith in my Heavenly Father. When I was young I loved soccer and played it my whole life. I knew I was going to go far with it, I went to all the BYU camps and played on the top teams in California. The time came when I had chose what was more important to me, playing soccer on Sundays, or following his teachings and not playing on Sundays. Now the quick answer came to me as a 16 year old saying "it doesn't matter". I was so torn from this decision, it wasn't easy at all. I prayed and prayed for answers on what I should do. This one weekend we had an important tournament, I went knowing that if we win this Saturday game that I would have to chose to play the next day. We ended up winning and the next day I had this strong feeling that I shouldn't play. I remember the spirit being so strong I couldn't ignore it. I lost a piece of me that day but gained something so much greater. I gained true testimony of this gospel and all of its truths. I know that my Heavenly Father sent his son Jesus Christ to Aton for our sins so that we could be with again. I know that the Holy Ghost will give you promptings that we should follow. I know that we have a living Prophet today Thomas S. Monson that leads and guides this church today. I am a Mormon because this joy that I have in my life today, I know it comes from the teachings of this gospel and I know that it will be everlasting. I am a Mormon because I know that families are enteral and I love mine so much. I grateful for this gospel and its truthfulness. I love my Savior so much and I cant wait to serve a full time mission.

How I live my faith

I attend church meetings every Sunday, I have had the opportunity to teach girls my age about different topics in the church, plan service activities, and get to know each other through the year. I honor my life and represent everywhere I go. I love this church.
