Hi I'm Owen E Denison

I was born in Manti, Utah. Have taught math for 39 years and have been called to teach at BYU Hawaii University and I am a Mormon

About Me

I was born in Manti, Utah on February 14,1948 across from Manti, Utah Temple. I have six children and 8 grand children. We live in Alpine, Utah. I love sports of all kinds and enjoyed playing them my entire life. I was in the 23rd Army Band for 30 years playing tuba. I loved the band and it keep me out of Vietnam. I had my own business for 40 years selling floral supplies all around Utah. I have taught math for 39 years including Kearns High School, BYU, SUU, SLCC, USU, and Dixie College. So longevity defines my life and I stay with things until they are finished. I feel I am a very happy individual and love life. I have a nice voice and when I was young was asked to sing by individuals in our ward. I love my family and think they are the most important part of my life. Thanks

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. It puts direction and guidance into my life and makes me feel like I am doing the right thing here on earth. I have read the book of Mormon and know that it is true because of the feelings I get as I read it and pray about it. From an intellectual slant I just know that a teenager with minimal education could not have written such a complex book without the help of our heavenly father. I have listened to the leaders of our church and have never heard them speak degrading of anything but sin. I feel that their advise is always given to improve our lives and send us in good directions. I love the gospel and our savior Jesus Christ and want everyone to know that we are strong Christians.

How I live my faith

We have served a mission for the LDS Church in New York and loved it. I served in the office and worked with the other missionaries in both finance and as vehicle specialist. I have been a clerk for our bishop in our ward. I have planned parties for our congregation, have been over activities for the members, and worked with scouts. I have done a lot of service for members and nonmembers. Helping move families, doing clean-up work around our neighborhood, and cleaning the chapel.
