Hi I'm Jessie

I'm an Idaho born farm girl, an aspiring college student and a lover of people, culture, and adventure. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in small town Idaho. This town was so small that many of the townspeople would joke around by saying to others, "If you blink you'll miss it" which was kind of true for the most part. People mainly farmed and because of this, I grew up doing a lot of farm chores (such as moving pipe and pulling rye). After graduating, I moved to Hawaii so that I could pursue my education. I fell in love with Hawaii and all of the good people I met there! I learned to have a zest for the gift of life and the abilities and capabilities that our bodies possess! Going to school in such a beautiful place also taught me to treasure the world and all of the beautiful things that God has created, whether they be intricate or simple. I have an extreme love for beautiful words and beautiful photos. I guess you could say I'm kind of a romantic at heart. I feel like this is really cliche to say, but because of this love, I really enjoy photographing people and places and I am also going to school to get a degree in English. To me, music is a combination of both of these things. Words and melodies combine to form ideas and illustrations that can inspire. I love music! Whether it be searching out good music or creating it myself through the use of musical instruments, I love it. Above all else, I love my family! I am so grateful for them and their influence on me! They have taught me the most important things about life and love.

Why I am a Mormon

To me, this question is pretty easy to answer. I am a Mormon simply because of the hope that it brings to me. Because of the gospel, I have the knowledge that that no matter what happens, everything will be okay. I will always have someone to trust in, I will always have someone that will listen to me, and I will always be loved and cared for. All of these qualities are emanated by Christ. He is our friend, He is our hope, He is our Savior.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through trying to be a better person. That's the great thing about this religion, it inspires and uplifts while encouraging me to become a better person both as an individual and as a member of society. I go to church every week to renew special promises made to the Lord and also to reflect on Christ and his beautiful gift of the atonement to us. I am also serving a mission where I will have the ability to teach others of the Gospel and the joy that it can bring to us all!
