Hi I'm Sister Goetsch

I am currently serving a mission in Salt Lake City, Utah.

About Me

My brother and I were born in Indiana and adopted at a very young age by our loving grandparents. My grandparents wanted to make sure if anything ever happened to them they would have a back up plan for my brother and I. In our church congregation, there was this wonderful family. The parents had one daughter, who I was very close with, and a little boy. My grandparents asked them if they would take care of my brother and I if anything ever happened to them. This family later moved away to North Carolina. In July 2011 my grandma emailed this family and let them know that she was dying of lung cancer. It was very challenging to move away from grandparents that had been like parents to me, but I didn't have a choice in the matter. I really didn't want to leave as she was dying. I wanted to be there for her. About a week later, after the family went to the temple, prayed, and felt like raising us would be the right thing to do, they came and got us. On October 2, 2011, my grandmother passed away. It was very sad, but I know now I will see her again. Now, I am as happy as ever! My new family has been such a blessing. However, my brother hasn't enjoyed the same blessings as I am enjoying with my wonderful family. He has made some bad decisions that have made him be sent back to my grandfather, which has been another trial in my life. But I know this is where I belong and I'm truly blessed.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church on the earth. This gospel teaches us not just some truths, like other churches provide, but it teaches us the fullness of the truth. It teaches us everything that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ need us to know. It helps us to know where we came from, why we're here, and where we're going. To have this knowledge is such a blessing. This way we know exactly what we must do to get back to our loving Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. They want us to come back to them. They will try to help us in any way they can. I know this to be true, because I have seen the Lord's hand in mine own life. They want us to be happy. If you are ever going through a trial or if you are having doubts, I invite you to get down on your knees and pray sincerely to your Heavenly Father. He is there for you and he will answer your prayer. When you live the gospel that he has provided us with and pray and read the scriptures daily your relationship with your Father in Heaven and your relationship with your brother Jesus Christ will grow and become so real. All of us went through a veil when we were sent to earth, away from our Heavenly Father. This veil makes us forget about our life in the Premortal Existence where we lived as spirits up in Heaven with everyone. Because you are on earth now, that means that you agreed with Heavenly Father's plan. We can't remember everything from our Premortal Existence, but we can be reminded of how we felt with our Heavenly Father, by feeling the Spirit. I know when we continue to follow Heavenly Father's plan, he will bless us and keep us safe. It's important to remember how much he loves each and every one of his children, how much he wants to see our testimonies and relationship with him grow, and how much he wants each and every one of us to come and live with him again.

How I live my faith

I've gone through a lot of trials in my life, but without them I wouldn't be the young woman I am today. I feel like I am constantly building my testimony and striving to do better. My family and friends help me stay on the right path. My parents are so kind and loving. They are such great examples in my life, and I hope to have many of the same characteristics that they have once I'm a parent and trying to strengthen my own family. Even though I am not biologically their daughter, I have finally gotten to a place now where I feel like I am truly a part of their family. I was meant to be with this family. I needed them more than I needed anyone! My family is my greatest blessing. I had to get through a lot to get to them, but I'm finally here and I'm enjoying every moment of it!
