Hi I'm Connor

I grew up in Southern Idaho. I love sheep. I love to learn. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have always loved to gain as much knowledge as I can. Gaining an education has always been an important part of my life. I believe that God truly wants us to learn all that we can so that we can help others. As a teenager I grew up in the farmlands of Southern Idaho. I had the opportunity there to raise sheep. Every year I helped the sheep as they brought new life into the world. Watching baby lambs as they learn and grow, and sometimes struggle to even live, was an amazing experience each year. I came to know that God's hand is in everything. I knew that he cared about the baby lambs as well that he cared for me. I came to realize that the experiences we have in this life is what truly teaches us the most.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I want to be. My membership in the church has nothing to do with my family's membership because if I didn't want to participate in the church, I wouldn't. I'm a Mormon because it makes sense to me. A sad existence is one in which nobody has anything to believe in. I love having a belief; something that might not make sense to everybody else, but is special to me. I'm a Mormon because I love our Heavenly Father and it gives me great joy to think that someone vastly more important than myself loves me. Most of all, I'm a Mormon because I believe that the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are true. With such a knowledge if I didn't follow the church I wouldn't be being true to myself and my God.

How I live my faith

Something inside of me has sparked a love for family history. I don't what it is about it that I love. Maybe it's the confidence one feels when learning about your ancestors. Or the connection you feel to your family when you see a picture or a document. I try to share opportunities to participate in family history with as many people as I can. There is something for everyone in family history. Age doesn't matter because everyone can find their niche. As well as participating in family history I am currently serving the Spanish-speaking people in the Kansas Wichita Mission. I have truly come to love the people of Kansas and help them come closer to their Savior.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

The earth itself testifies to me that there is a God. When I consider the beauties of the earth, the elaborate design of creatures and man, and the complexity of biology I am sure there is a God. To me the creation of this earth and all its inhabitants point to God, it makes the most sense to me. There is a scripture in The Book of Mormon that illustrates this point more eloquently than I can. Alma 30:44 "...all things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator."
