Hi I'm Lydia

I am a university student. I am a full-time missionary. I love chocolate-chip pancakes and I hate whistling. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in the Pacific Northwest and plan to study accounting at Brigham Young University. I am serving a full-time mission on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. I love the mountains -- snow-covered, forested, rocky, or all of the above. I can be interested and involved in almost anything. When I have time on my hands I like to take spontaneous day trips, explore music, run, cook (and eat!) good food, or study whatever happens to be on my mind.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and I have chosen to stay. My knowledge of the truthfulness of the restored gospel began as I sought to understand the role and character of the Savior. As I look for ways to better understand Jesus Christ, my desire to follow him increases. The restoration of the organization of his church on this earth today, the holy scriptures, and living prophets today testify of his message and invitation to become more as he is. I love to read the four gospels and the passages in Third Nephi in the Book of Mormon, and hear the words of the Savior -- as spoken by the Savior himself! I know that he promises us the comfort and guidance we need, through the Holy Spirit, if we seek him in our daily lives. I am a Mormon because I am a Christian.

How I live my faith

Currently, I am a full-time missionary in Mexico. This means I get to be a representative of Jesus Christ, inviting others to come unto him and rendering whatever service he would offer if he were ministering in Mexico personally. There are people to be helped and there is good news to spread -- I get to be a part of it! Before my mission, I taught one of the Sunday School classes for my Young Single Adult congregation. I also adored my calling as the leader our congregation's women's organization -- it is so fulfilling to be personally involved in so many lives and to get to love so many faces!
