Hi I'm Ray

I was born and raised in Ohio and have lived in Korea, Japan, Guatemala and New Zealand. I now live in Virginia. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to the lovely Belinda and together we have six children and five grandchildren with another coming in November. I spent 24 years in the U.S. Army living in several states as well as Korea, Japan, Guatemala and New Zealand. I officiate football, baseball and soccer which helps keep me active as I get older. I love old time, bluegrass and gospel music.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Methodist church and at a young age decided that I wanted to become a minister in the Methodist church. As I studied and prepared to move in that direction I came up with several questions that, when I asked them of my church leaders, I was told not to worry about them. I started studying other churches and religions and eventually met the missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. After reading, listening, praying and being fellowshipped by a great LDS family, I became a member of the Church. I have been a member now for 42 years, have an eternal family and am blessed everyday by knowing how much the Gospel influences the good things in my life and the lives of my family members. I have learned that I am truly a child of God and that He loves me even more than I love Him.

How I live my faith

I have the wonderful opportunity in my church calling to travel each month to Welch, WV, to visit our church unit there and meet with the beautiful saints in that part of the Lord's vineyard. They are wonderful, faithful and humble people. I truly love them all. In my community I am involved in our youth recreational programs, referee Middle and High School sports and serve on our local school board. I live in a place full of great people, tremendous musicians and natural beauty.
