Hi I'm Steve

I have a beautiful wife and six children. I love Jesus Christ and strive to become more like him. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Mormon dad with a beautiful wife, six children and four grand children. I was born an air force kid and traveled all over the US and world with my family when growing up - what a great way to get to know the world. I put my self through college (with the help of my sweet darling wife - I could not have done it without her) on two separate times until I finally finished. I am a welding engineer and currently doing research in the area of materials and welding for the power generation industry. Just like when I was young I now travel all over the US and the world. Except now I work to solve welding and materials problems instead of just hanging out at school and having fun. I love my job and would never have imagined that I would travel so much. I like to do anything mechanical, metal, wood, cars, trucks, ... you get the idea. But, I must admit that my most favorite thing to do is spend time with my children and grand children. If fact my youngest grand child is on my lap right now as I write about myself. Family is what life is all about! The older I get the more I appreciate my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when I was 10 years old - a few years after my mother joined the church. Since that time my testimony has grown and been strengthened through life experiences. I have a testimony of Jesus Christ and know that His church is on the earth today. Life has not always been easy. My two oldest sons left us early and are no longer with us in this mortal life. My first son died as an infant and my second son died in a bicycle accident shortly after he was married in the temple. Though I don't claim to understand why these things happen I have come to learn that my Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ are there to help when times are dark. I have come to know through personal experience that families are eternal and I know that I will see my sons again some day. I know this because the Holy Ghost has testified to me of the eternal nature of family relationships as taught by scripture and modern day prophets of God.

How I live my faith

I served a mission in Norway many years ago and will never forget that great experience. I've served in many church positions and callings since my mission. My favorite calling is what am doing right now. I teach Gospel Principles every Sunday when I'm not away on business. I love to share the gospel with new members and others just learning about the Mormon church. I strive every day to be more like my older brother Jesus Christ. I'm certainly not perfect but know that as I strive to be more Christ like in my life that He will be there to lift me and help me.
