Hi I'm Heather

I am from Springville, Utah. I love my family, the outdoors, running, biking, hiking, animals and skiing. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I love spending time with my family. I grew up in Springville, Utah surrounded by grandparents and cousins. I ran in high school on the track and cross country teams. I ran on BYU's cross-country and track teams during college on scholarship. It was during college that I met my husband, who is also from Springville. We left Utah for 4 years while my husband attended medical school at UVA in Charlottesville, VA. I love being with family. We have 3 living children and 1 angel baby. We love to hike, bike, nordic and alpine ski, snowshoe, and run together. I love animals and we have a couple of horses, ponies, dogs, cats, and other small animals. I have been a personal trainer, spin instructor, and high school coach, but decided to focus on being a mom. I still do a little training on the side for friends and family, but just for fun. We feel so blessed living in America and having the Gospel. We love to serve and travel. Last year we decided to use the money we would spend on Christmas to save money to travel to another country and serve as a family. We were able to go to Fiji and help fix up a school. My husband was able to do a lot of medical work too. We loved it so much. We can't wait to do it again! Our house is filling with books and other supplies for our next trip over.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was growing up, my parents were growing in the Gospel. They were sealed in the temple when I was very young. They taught me the truths and line upon line, and I developed a testimony of my own. I can remember learning things from them when I was younger and thinking, "Yes. I know this." I know the Holy Ghost brings all things to your remembrance. I have read and prayed to know for myself that what I study in the scriptures are true. I testify that they are. I have had prayers answered in ways that were not always as I expected, but as I needed to help me to learn and grow. I am grateful to a loving Heavenly Father who knows and loves each one of us. I have had trials and have made mistakes, but because of our Saviors atonement we are able to be comforted, to repent, try again and again! He is patient with us. He knows us better than we know ourselves and He knows what we are capable of. We need to have faith in Him and that we can do all He requires us to do with His help. We just need to ask. I know this, because I have tried it. Obedience brings blessings. You must first put your faith and trust in Him. I am so grateful. I am grateful for the plan of our Heavenly Father for families to be together forever. I have seen it in the lives of those around me. Their is light radiating from those who live the Gospel. Unfortunately, I have seen the opposite as well. Read the scriptures and pray and you can know for yourself. He doesn't force any of us, but lets us find out for ourselves. Those who live the gospel will not be free from trials, but their lives will be happy and full of peace! Trust God, serve others, and live!

How I live my faith

I have served in various different ways in my church assignments. I have taught the youngest of children for many years on Sundays for the Primary. Teaching lessons and helping them learn songs about the Savior and the Gospel. I have also helped in the organization of the children's group as a counselor in the presidency, which includes the cub scout program and after school activities for the children during the week. At different times I have been a leader and teacher of young women ages 12-18. I have also been a camp director for the young women at a local level (our neighboring area) and in a larger level for around 600 plus people for. The camps for the young women are help for a week where they have great outdoor and spiritual experiences together. Where they can see the hand of God in every aspect of their lives. It also gives them a great opportunity to get away from the things of the world and help them draw closer to things that matter the most in life. I currently am teaching the 13-14 year olds as a Sunday School teacher. It is a wonderful opportunity. I love having the chance to discuss with the youth the truths found in the scriptures. I also am a visiting teacher and once a month go with another neighbor and we visit other women and give them an uplifting message and see if they are doing well. I love to attend the temple. I am trying to find out more about my ancestors and making sure my family history is accurate. I love attending church. I look forward to general conferences each year when we can hear from the prophet and apostles. Then I love to listen to them again and again. We live in a great age of technology where we can do so.
