Hi I'm Greg

I grew up in Richland, Washington. For the last 22 years, I have lived in Alaska. I am a mormon

About Me

I am the second of four children. I grew up in Washington state and have camped, hiked, fished and hunted over much of it. Growing up I would often dream of camping in the mountains. I went to college in Utah, and I served a mission in Australia where in my assignments, I got to see quite a bit of the country and people. I love to take a new topic and research to learn all I can about it. My free time is spent enjoying my grand kids, working in wood, and spending time with my wonderful wife. Over the years, we have raised rabbits, gardened and traveled the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the joy and happiness the gospel brings to my life. The children sing a song, "I am trying to be like Jesus, like him in every way." That is a tall order and each of us will spend a life time trying to understand and follow him. I love to have a Prophet of God to follow and help me learn what the Lord wants me to do and be. I have found that when I take the time to ask in prayer, and then follow the promptings that come, the results are so much better than anything I come up with on my own. I have a small plaque on my cane that says, "I'll go where you want me to go dear Lord..." That simple but constant reminder keeps me safe and brings so much joy as I try to do the things the Savior wants me to do.

How I live my faith

Growing up in the Church, I would sometimes stop and wonder, is this really right, or is it just what I've been told. Time and time again, the sweet assurance from the Holy Ghost would whisper that it was true. Over the years of reading, studying and pondering, I have learned fro myself that this gospel is true. I am often amazed at the answers to life's problems that come from the scriptures. After reading and studying them my whole life, I will often have passages come to mind as I am wrestling with a problem. The gospel and the constant love I feel from the Savior brings peace and perspective to the ups and downs we all face in life. These things have helped as I have tired to meet the challenges of living the gospel and working in the Lord's vineyard present. I have worked with the youth most of my life, and love to interact with them as they too learn for themselves.
