Hi I'm Zach Zapata

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona my whole life. I run the 400 meter in track and I am also a diver. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am recently graduated and will be serving a two year mission in Cali, Colombia. I love to run and have adventure. Water is pretty sweet too since I live in Arizona and it is sooo HOT. That brings me to my next favorite things to do. Going to the lake and wake boarding, tubing, cliff jumping. Really anything to do with water I love. A little more about my family life, when I was 15 my father past away from illness and my family had to live on faith, hoping that God knew about our situation. He then past away, and years later my mom remarried, and my brother and I were now in a blended family with a step dad, and three step brothers. It wasn't easy but we went to our Lord for help and comfort we found that joy that comes from our Lord and Savior when we turn to him. Oh and I have a sister, she is happily married :)

Why I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon, well I learned that I never had this big Ahh Haa kind of moment. It was by the small experiences that I learned to grow my testimony (Alma 37:6) Feeling the peace and joy that comes from reading the scriptures and being a follower of Christ brings to past many blessings that our Heavenly Father has in store for us. It took a little bit to realize that, but now I am grateful that I know why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is by going out with the missionaries to participate in lessons and to share with others the blessings that come from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Also in my youth group at church we plan activities to get together as friends on Wednesday nights and do something fun, it really is just hanging out in a positive environment. We play ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball, kickball. The possibilities are endless because we as the youth get to do what we want a majority of the time.
