Hi I'm Justin Miskin

I love to make people's day and give them a good laugh. My passions are wrestling and soccer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from high school in 2014 and in March, I began my journey as a Full-time Missionary. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be serving the Lord 24/7. My knowledge in the Gospel is growing so much; there isn't a thing I love more than trying to be a Disciple of the Lord by inviting others to Christ and helping them with any concerns they might have. I am an Eagle Scout along with my two brothers. I love soccer!! I started at a young age and played through high school. I enjoy paintballing and working out. I am a runner. I wrestled in middle school and high school and went to semistate my junior year. I enjoy a good laugh and giving people a hard time...you could say I'm mischievous, I love shenanigans but know its limits. Despite that, I have a great love for my friends and family and they mean everything to me. My senior year I was not cleared to do sports by my doctor. After two years of dealing with these health problems I was sent to Mayo Clinic and saw a rheumatologist, GI doc, cardiologist, neurologist, and sleep consultant. After seeing so many doctors and having many tests done I was beginning to wonder if i'd ever be diagnosed. They did eventually diagnose me. I have POTS, gasteroperises, and insomnia. So many symptoms! But through great effort and looking to the Lord I am currently becoming stronger and recovering well. I learned so much during my sickness and as a result I have come much closer to God. I have definitely seen his impact in my life!

Why I am a Mormon

Personally, I was born into the church. On both sides of my family we can trace a lot of our ancestors to the church. But, over the years I have found out for myself time and time again that this Church is true. I have a strong testimony that Heavenly Father watches over us and takes care of us. I know that we are never alone and that when we are going through difficult times he is most willing to guide us and direct us. As long as we look to him and are obedient. I firmly believe that He places people in our lives to help us become better, stronger, and wiser people. But also to help us in our struggles and to be a tender mercy in our life. I know that there is a reason for the trials we go through and that they do impact our lives greatly. Through prayer and personal study I have come to know that the Restoration of the Gospel truly did happen and that Joseph Smith did kneel down in prayer and Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ did appear before him. I know that the Priesthood was restored during this time and I am so grateful to feel its presence in my life, both by exercising it myself and by others exercising it on me by giving me blessings of strength and health. I know that we can receive personal revelation from Him in our lives and have seen it in my life as I made life changing decisions and struggled with personal problems whether the were physically, mentally, or spiritually. I have seen it in the lives of those around me and have been able to see how it changed them for the better. I know that miracles do exist today and that Heavenly Father can send down mighty angels from Heaven to strengthen us and protect us. I am so grateful for the love and care He has for us and how much He has protected me in my life, for without it I don't know how i'd be fairing. And so I strive to do my best to love, care, and protect those around me for I know that he wants me to!

How I live my faith

As a high schooler I went to early morning bible study (seminary) all four years. We study the Book of Mormon, Old Testament, New Testament, and Doctrine and Covenants and Church History. It was a wonderful way to start out each day before going to school and it was great to learn so much about the Lord's Gospel. It also helped me make lots of new friends and become closer to them in a place where I had just moved. We also do a lot of service in our Church and over the years I have grown to love to help out those in need and who are less fortunate than me. It is a great joy to help out and the smiles and thankfulness they have is most rewarding! I am also currently living my faith by serving the Lord on a two year mission. I study the Book of Mormon, Bible, and other Church resources for several hours every day to help strengthen my knowledge and help those around me. As I am faithful the Lord has blessed me to proclaim His Gospel with strength and power. Through prayer each day I have learned to come so much closer to the Lord and experience the blessings He has for me as I am obedient. I also live my faith by not just being a member of the Church on Sundays, but doing my best to be a good representative of Christ and trying to best show the same characteristics of Christ, everyday improving.
