Hi I'm Martin S. Morris

I was born in Sandy, Utah. I live in West Jordan, Utah. I have two older brothers and a younger sister. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 and preparing to serve an LDS Mission. I will be serving in Colorado where a new Temple is being built. I am looking forward to serving the Lord for two years. I come from a family of six. I have two older brothers and a younger sister. One of my brothers is disabled. He has SMS and recently moved into a group home. My family has always been a very important part of my life. I graduated from High School in 2014. I have always been interested in the military and physical fitness. I enjoy weight lifting and other fitness activities. My brother and I also enjoy video gaming. My hobbies are based on those two interests of gaming and fitness. I plan to come home from my mission and attend college. I hope to become a police office or police commissioner. I have always wanted to be a public servant and contribute to the community. I think a police officer is in the best position to serve and protect. I earned my Eagle Scout Award and feel it has helped me toward my goal of becoming a Police Officer. I look forward to all the adventures ahead of me. I am eager to begin my personal journey and living my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the Church of Jesus Christ is the true church. In my darkest time, I thought I had no friends. I didn't think I wanted to continue living. I picked up the Book of Mormon and found new insight. I found that Christ was my friend and loved me. It helped me see myself differently. I have a purpose. I want others to know they are not alone. They are loved. I want them to see themselves in a new light to find the peace and love I found in the gospel. Most important is the Church helps you remember you are never alone, but that you always have friends and support. You will always have the Lord no matter what you face in you earthly life. You always have someone to turn to and to talk to. He loves all of us.

How I live my faith

I attend my ward and participate when asked to serve. I am active in our youth programs and recently completed a Temple Preparation Class. I am a home teacher and enjoy doing that with an adult companion. I try to encourage other men my age to participate in the events and activities that our ward provides. I also continue to support the Scouts in our neighborhood. Scouting has benefited me in getting to this stage in my life. I feel it is a program that would benefit any young man in becoming an adult. The Church sponsors the Scouting program in our area and so I try to help with activities and bringing new young men into the program. I study scriptures on my own but also enjoy the classes in our ward. Currently my focus is on my missionary preparation class. I am eager to get out into the field and share what I have found in the gospel and in my own ward family.
