Hi I'm Noah Shelton

I grew up in Arizona. I love music and art. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old and have just recently graduated from high school. In high school I played many sports such as football, soccer and the hurdles in track. The older I became the less involved in sports I became and began to develop new hobbies. I love music and have recently taught my self to play the piano and the drums. I really enjoy genres like alternative or indie rock. I enjoy writing and playing songs with my friends. I also love art. I have spent a lot of time drawing through my life, but last year when I picked up a paint brush I found my newest hobby. Several of my paintings were displayed around my high school and in the school district art show. I was also able to paint a mural in my high school hall way. I enjoy many other things like skateboarding, long boarding, photography or even graphic art. But when it comes down to it, nothing is more fun then playing friendly soccer games with my LDS friends and leaders.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because nothing in my life has made me happier than the Gospel. It has totally changed who I am. A couple years ago, I was not sure if I would continue to stay in the church. Having grown up in the church it seemed more like a habit than a testimony. After going through a hard junior year in high school, I was able to spend a lot of time with my uncle the following summer. He was able to help me truly feel the spirit and I cannot deny what I felt. I don't know where I would be without the church. But I do know where I am now. I have the opportunity to serve in the Mexico Puebla South mission and report to the Mexico MTC on October 29th. I have a very supportive family and friends and am more than excited to serve the people I was called to serve.

How I live my faith

I consistently attend church each Sunday because I know it is what my Father in Heaven has asked me to do. I have several opportunities to teach, whether that is in Sacrament meeting, priest quorum, gospel principles and now even elders quorum. When I do have this opportunity, I always am able to feel the spirit, which makes me know that the ones I am teaching are able to feel the spirit as well. I love going on splits with the missionaries when I can, because nothing feels better the learning and sharing the gospel to others. Whenever someone from work or a non-member friend from my school asks about my religion, I always try to the best of my ability to explain it to them to where it will make sense and help continue or carry on the conversation. I try my best to be an example to my friends and love to attend mutual, especially when we are playing some sort of sport. I am far from perfect, but I continue to strive to be more like Christ and learn from my mistakes.
