Hi I'm Elizabeth Paige Hemmingsen

If it doesn't matter eternally, then it doesn't really matter.

About Me

I grew up in the midwest, graduating with a class of 67, with only one other member of my faith. I love reading, playing the piano, thrift shopping, listening to old 33 LP's, taking pictures, meeting new people, traveling, learning about different cultures, and making up my own recipes (which tend to not work out). I studied communications for a year at BYU-Idaho which led me to my decision of serving a mission for my church. I was called to the Texas, McAllen Mission. Here I get to share my testimony with everyone I come in contact with. I can't describe how happy I am to be on the Lord's errand. I relate it to the verse in Alma 26:16 "Behold, who can glory too much in the Lord? Yea, who can say too much of his great power, and of his mercy, and of his long-suffering towards the children of men? Behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part which I feel."

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but it wasn't until a couple of years ago that I realized the importance of this faith. There wasn't a moment where the light turned on and everything just clicked, but little by little my testimony was fed and I realized that this is the true and restored gospel of Jesus Christ. All things are a gift from our loving Heavenly Father, large or small. The church is for everyone; it's universal, but yet so personal. It can be a guide to anyone who has the faith to ask the Lord. Because of the church I can be the happiest version of myself because I know where I came from, why I am here, and where I will go after this life.

How I live my faith

Growing up in the LDS church, I went to classes and activities that strengthened my faith. I was surrounded by good influences both young and old(er) who encouraged me to stand up for my beliefs. I have been given so many blessings that I wanted to do something to show God how grateful I am. I am a full-time missionary serving in the Texas, McAllen Mission. I speak (well, I'm learning) Spanish so that I can share my testimony with everyone that I meet. It's challenging, but I know that missionary work is God's work and glory. He wants all of his children to come home to him someday, and it's my job to help bring some of those children back.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Elizabeth Paige Hemmingsen
As missionaries we teach the restored gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone we come in contact with. We talk about the plan that our father in heaven has for us and how through living the teachings of the gospel we can return to live with him and our families in heaven again. We invite all to pray and ask Heavenly Father about the truth of the restored gospel. Show more Show less
