Hi I'm Lee Cooley

I grew up in Southern California, served in Vietnam, graduated from Pepperdine University and am an investment banker.

About Me

I am a father of 5 children with 23 grandchildren. We love to go camping, skiing, cycling and traveling. I own my own investment banking firm serving the healthcare sector. When I served in the military I was assigned to be in the Honor Guard of the Army and had White House detail.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 16, two missionaries came to my door and they taught me the plan of salvation. While I was not searching for a church, I was immediately struck by the notion that I was a child of God and he had a plan and purpose for me in this life. I was baptized and began my journey to conversion. My life took a whole new direction, I went to college, got a masters degree and started my career knowing that the most important thing in my life was returning to my Heavenly father and making sure my family had all the benefits of knowing the plan of salvation and truly living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have truly been blessed by making the covenants associated with baptism and becoming disciple of Christ. My wife and I have 5 children, 23 grandchildren and enjoy great happiness even amidst trial that are inevitable in this life. I cannot imagine being more blessed as I am today with all that the Lord has placed before me and his constant companionship amidst the hurdles and challenges in this life. I know that whatever life throws at us, the Lord will never give us a trial that we cannot overcome with His help. What a blessing to know we are never alone.

How I live my faith

I have served in our community and church as a college instructor, youth leader and as a Bishop in our local ward. My wife and I have served a mission in the Philippines helping people become self-reliant through career counseling and micro-business techniques. We are leaving shortly to serve another mission in Romania/Moldova for 18 months.
