Hi I'm Mariah Smith

I'm a nanny. I love to sing, read, and travel. I'm going to serve a mission in Europe. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised by a single mom who is now my best friend. I have one younger brother, and we enjoy watching Doctor Who together. I've gotten my Associate's Degree, and I'm looking forward to continuing my education when I return home from serving my mission. I am a major bookworm, and singing makes me happy! I hate running and am terrible at sports, but I swim like a fish (or mermaid). Sometimes I'm very silly, and I get competitive playing board games.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints brings me joy. Living according to the commandments given by God ensures that I am making choices that keep me physically, and emotionally healthy. I had a time, not too long ago when I stopped attending church meetings, stopped studying scripture, and stopped praying to God. That time has been the darkest of my life. I suffered from depression, and felt hopeless. Becoming active in the church again, has helped me manage my depression, have purpose to continue, and make goals for my future. I feel like a brand-new person. The most important thing I have learned in the church is that God is my Heavenly Father, and that he loves me boundlessly, and will always forgive me. He is a perfect parent, and is always ready to listen to me, and guide me along in my life. The gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints brings me comfort.

How I live my faith

I'm getting prepared to leave my home and serve the people living in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein. Until then, I love meeting with other young, single, adults and volunteering in fundraising for community members that are facing loss, illness, and other trials. I also love singing in choir, and sharing my testimony through music.
