Hi I'm Dallen Craven

I am a fun loving person and a teacher by profession. I am happily married and a father of four. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in New Zealand, Italy, and in the states of Texas, Wyoming, New York and Utah. Wherever I go I love the people I am around. This world is such an interesting and diverse place and my lifestyle has always brought me in contact with very good people. I am a religious educator by profession and strive to help people live happier lives through the study of the Holy Scriptures.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I appreciate the beautiful world we live in and the wonderful people I meet, Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ are the one constant in my life. On the good days I am so grateful for their love. During trying times I feel their peace as it is brought to me by the Holy Ghost. I am grateful to belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Through the ordinances administered in this church by his holy priesthood, I have been immensely blessed. Because of these ordinances I believe that we can live as an eternal family and I have a great family! This gospel has helped me to draw closer to God by studying its doctrines as contained in Holy Scriptures, including the Book of Mormon. The closer I am to God the happier I feel.

How I live my faith

I read that “perfect worship is emulation. We honor those whom we imitate.” Though I am far from perfect, I try to live my life by emulating my Savior, Jesus Christ. Because I fall short of this lofty goal attending church on the Sabbath day is very important to me. The Sabbath day helps me renew myself so I can strive to live better the next week. When I visualize the Savior in my mind I think He was happy, kind, and accepting. At the same time He held up moral standards that He thought his Father would want Him to follow. I love the phrase in John 8:11 “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and allow for change. I am happy that I belong to a church that has a lot of volunteerism. When I help others I think I am following Christ’s example.
