Hi I'm Kathy

I used to teach history and language arts. I've traveled all over the world and love meeting people! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a mother of 5 and grandmother of 11. My husband and kids supported me while I finished my teaching certificate and masters degree. Once teaching, I was lucky enough to have some of my own children in my history and language arts classes! I play the piano and sing. (Singing competitively initially gave money for college.) I also love horseback riding and traveling. My husband and I travel all over the world together. We love to experience new cultures and meet new people. There are a LOT of really interesting and wonderful people in this world!

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has always made sense to me. After reading the Book of Mormon, I prayed and received a witness that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that the Book of Mormon was the indeed the word of God. (Even people that grow up in the church need to have a witness for themselves that the church is true.) I treasure my membership in the church. I am fortunate to be able to have the gift of the Holy Ghost--given after baptism--as he guides me through life. The spirit of the Holy Ghost has helped me make major decisions, warned me of danger, and comforted me during hardships. I also am grateful to have the knowledge of the plan of salvation. I know that I lived with Heavenly Father

How I live my faith

Currently my husband and I are working with the young single adults in our church. We help them build leadership qualities, develop teaching skills, gain employment opportunities, and perform service projects. We love spending time with them! Soon my husband and I will be going to Indonesia to serve an 18 month mission for the church. We will be helping the Indonesian people with anything that the local mission president sees fit. I have currently started learning the language (Bahasa Indonesia), but my husband already knows the language. (He served a church mission in Indonesia as a young man.) I love the Indonesian language; it flows beautifully and is an easy language to learn. I am very excited to travel to Indonesia and meet the saints there!
