Hi I'm Katie

I love my family, and my Savior Jesus Christ. I enjoy singing, writing stories, and listening to music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a big family, nine people in total, and I absolutely love it. Music is a big part of my life, I enjoy singing in choir and listening to all sorts of music. I love reading mysteries and writing stories too. I graduated from high school recently in the top 5% of my class, and plan on going to college after I serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but I don't just go to church because my parents say I should. They don't have to tell me to go, and they never have. I choose to go because I have studied the scriptures on my own, and I have felt the Holy Spirit in my heart when I pray, telling me that the Book of Mormon truly is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that God lives, and that He is my Father in Heaven. I also know He loves each of His children, and that He wants us to be happy.

How I live my faith

I love serving in my church by teaching the children, and helping them learn about Jesus Christ and his gospel. I also enjoy visiting with the women in my congregation, so we can all strengthen each other.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

We believe that God is our loving Heavenly Father, thus we are all His children. In that sense, we have an eternal family that we want to live with in heaven after we die. Similarly, God gave us families here on Earth, to help us to learn and grow, so that we can teach each other and develop the qualities that will make us to be a happy family in heaven. I know that the family is important to our Heavenly Father, because all of His teachings promote togetherness in family. I know that if we focus on family, we will be happy because we are following our Heavenly Father's plan for us. Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

This was once explained to me with the value of coins: men and women have equal value to God, just as two quarters are worth the same amount as five dimes. There is no monetary value that could describe God's love for each of us, but I do know that He cares about each man and woman, child and adult. Each soul is worth so much to our Heavenly Father, because we are His children! I know that although we are each different, His love for us is the same: He gave His son to suffer and die for us because He loves us with all His heart (John 3:16). Each child of God is unique and special in His eyes - each person has a role to play in this life, and each person is important to Him. Show more Show less
