Hi I'm Matthias

I have lived in Utah for my entire life. I love travelling and serving those I meet. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love getting outside and exploring! Whether it's rock climbing or rafting, if I'm outside I'm happy. Me and my friends love to go camping, and we do it as often as we can. Singing and music has always been a part of my life and I love being able to get together with my friends and jam out.

Why I am a Mormon

For as long as I remember I have been going to church, learning the teachings of Christ, and trying my very best to live them. I had my struggles and doubts, like any other person would, but it seemed that whenever I started to drift away, the Lord would show me something to pull me right back in. One of these experiences happened the summer after my sophomore year of high school. I was out camping with some of the young men in my ward, when a storm started to brew around our campsite. Things started to get bad as the temperature dropped and the winds started to swirl around us, one gust of wind managed to pick up our tent and cause it to start rolling away. As youth our first instinct was to run into the rolling tent in order to make it stop, so we waited for it to slow down before we all piled in there. We all got into our sleeping bags and waited out the storm, about ten minutes had passed when the winds came to an abrupt halt. We all got outside and carried our tent back to its original spot, then one of our leaders told us to look at the sky. All around us were dark grey storm clouds, except for one area right above our campsite where the clouds had parted and there was nothing but blue sky overhead. Later that night we learned that after we had climbed into our bags to stop the tent each of us had had a silent prayer within those ten minutes to calm the storm around us and help keep us from any harm. If I had never had that experience, I would not have the faith and testimony I have today.

How I live my faith

I have just been called to go on my mission and am excited to go and serve those whom I meet.
