Hi I'm Oktaviano

I was born in Indonesia. I was raised in NYC. I'm served in the Colorado Denver South mission. I attend BYU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 21 years old, born in the exotic islands of Indonesia, and raised in the concrete jungle of New York City. I was born to 2 kind and loving parents and I have 2 awesome brothers! I love playing sports, eating a variety of foods, hanging out with friends and meeting new people. I enjoy doing service everywhere I go! I served in the Colorado Denver South mission August 2014-2016 and now in college attending BYU studying applied statistics and analytics and minoring in management!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for a whole lot of reasons. I have been taught the gospel of Jesus Christ at an early age and at times I took the gospel for granted. However, this gospel gives me joy in my life and I want to share this same joy I received to others. When I read the Book of Mormon, my mind and heart are filled with happiness and knowledge. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is restored and I am excited to serve a mission to spread the word. I am on the Lord's errand and I know that I won't be counting the days, but rather I will make the days count.

How I live my faith

Living in the city that never sleeps and with a very dense population, it can be hard for anyone to keep the commandments of Jesus Christ. Still it isn't impossible because I know as I pray and read my scriptures everyday, I can overcome trials that may occur along the way. Attending church and partaking the sacrament is mandatory for me, just by my obedience and observing the Sabbath day gives me the assurance that I can go through my week walking with faith in Christ. Right before being called as a missionary, I was called to be a leader in the Young Men. It was a nice experience because I too was in the young men and I had great leaders that help me get to where I am today. I am grateful for them and for everyone that encouraged me to go serve a mission. I made the decision to serve a mission, when I was young in primary and I have learned, grown, and matured so much ever since. I try my best to live a life like my Savior Jesus Christ.
