Hi I'm Janea

Wife of an awesome husband. Mama of 2 amazing kiddos. Photographer of beautiful, fun people.

About Me

I'm a wife of almost 9 years and called "mama" by 2 amazing kids. I'm a full time mom, part time photographer/blogger. I'm a lover of running, old movies, friends, family, creativity, laughing a lot, inspiring people to be their most awesome self (me included), talking to complete strangers. I like racing my 6 year old down the grocery isle while shopping, singing songs I hear in the store and acting like a silly kid whenever possible. My favorite quote is by Marjorie Pay Hinckley- " I don't want to drive up the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born in the church but I am continually strengthening my testimony. I'm not a Mormon because my parents are... I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of the Restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am a mormon because I know that families weren't created just for this life, but for eternity. I am a Mormon because The Book of Mormon teaches us to be happy by the power of example and by lessons learned from history. I am Mormon because there is a living Prophet who leads us in righteousness and obedience to the Lord, who knows he is an instrument in the Lord's hands. I am a Mormon because I fought for righteousness, before I was born, so that I, along with my future family, could return to Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by learning and growing everyday. The Lord put us on this beautiful earth to experience life. It's high peaks and low valleys. I live my faith by helping others when I feel a prompting, which is easy when I have little angles in my home daily. I live my faith by seeing others as humans, sons and daughters of God and treating them as such. I strive to be obedient to Heavenly Father's commandments. Notice, the STRIVE. I live my faith by knowing I'm an imperfect person and need the atonement everyday. I live my faith by teaching my children about Christ, his love for us and how they can feel close to him. I live my faith by loving my Heavenly Father.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are diverse. Not one is the same. Mormon women come from so many life experiences that help shape and teach not only the youth of this generation but other women around them. Mormon women are helpful, kind, inspired, intelligent, Christ-like, serving, wise and fun! Show more Show less
