Hi I'm Mike Benson

I grew up in Iowa. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a convert to the Church. My wife and I have 5 children; all grown and living on their own or off to college. We love being outdoors. My wife and I have run several 5Ks and I ran my first sprint triathlon this spring. I love the outdoors, hunting, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and camping. I also enjoy playing golf.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church after I was married. My wife was already a member, but not actively living the gospel. Shortly after getting married she realized how important the gospel was in raising a family. She became an active member again. I met with the missionaries and eventually gained a testimony of the gospel and knew my Heavenly Father wanted me to join the church. I tell people I investigated the church because I loved my wife, but I joined the church because I loved the Lord and knew this was the right thing to do. The gospel has brought stability and purpose into my life. I am grateful to my Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. Living the gospel has become a way of life not just a Sunday activity.

How I live my faith

I enjoy my responsibilities in directing the work of the men in our local congregation. I participate in teaching the gospel to other members of our church in their homes. My wife and I also serve in the temple as temple workers.
