Hi I'm Benjamin

I'm a Mormon and a missionary in the Florida Tallahassee Mission. I'm from Orem, Utah.

About Me

I'm a missionary for the church in the Tallahassee Florida Mission. I like to draw, listen to music, sing, read. I like to do stuff outdoors such as camping and hiking. I enjoy electronic music and being with people. I am a bit nerdy as well.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into the church, there was a point where I had to gain a testimony for myself. I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it, and there's no other way to describe the feeling unless you do it yourself. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. There was a point where I wasn't a very good example and did a lot of stupid things. But I've come to know the Atonement personally and I also know that we can be made clean again from anything that we have done in the past. Even though it can be painful at times, our Savior paid the price for us. He knows us perfectly, and he knows what pain you have felt. I stay in this church because I know how much the gospel means to me, and I want to share that with others. This is the happiest I've ever been, and it's only through obedience to the commandments and counsel God gives us through living prophets. I invite anyone who may read this to just test out what I've said. Just see if it isn't true. But you need to do just as everyone else has. Read, pray, and come to church. Very simple, but a very big impact. These things I do testify, in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. Like I said before, I'm on a mission, so I do a lot of different kinds of service. Whether it's teaching people how to come closer to our Savior or physical labor, I'm here as a representative of Jesus Christ. I look for opportunities to help people all around.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Benjamin
Yes we do have the Bible. It is very important to us. But after Christ and his Apostles were killed, people changed the doctrine and the authority to lead the church was taken. That authority is called the Priesthood. All the prophets of old had it given to them, and Christ himself had it. But since that was lost, people had different ideas, and they changed things to how they thought things should be. That's why there are so many different religions. So instead of people changing things, it all had to be restored. That's when Joseph Smith comes in, and the authority was given to him. We have the Book of Mormon now, and that doesn't go against anything the Bible says. It solidifies our testimony of the Bible. They work hand in hand to testify of Christ and His Atonement.
