Hi I'm Zach

I grew up in Southern California, have played a lot of indoor and beach volleyball. I'm going to play for BYU and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up playing many sports such as soccer, basketball, and volleyball. I decided to focus on volleyball and have grown to love it, both on the court and on the sand. I received a scholarship to play for BYU but before I go there I will be serving a mission in Lima, Peru. I have three younger brothers and a ton of aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom I love to spend time with. I love being outdoors hiking, biking, and playing any type of sport. I have been involved in Boy Scouts and received my Eagle Scout award.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member first of all because this is what my parents taught me from when I was a little child. Secondly, I am a member because I have searched the scriptures and prayed to ask if they are true. I am a member because of the confirmation that I received through the Holy Ghost which was given to my by the power of the priesthood after I was baptized. This was a decision I made because I wanted to be a member of this church. I have made mistakes in my life that have caused me a lot of pain. Through the repentance process I have been able to be completely clean again. It is the best feeling in the world to have a heavy burden on my conscience removed through the power of the Atonement. I have felt His love for me and His desire for me to follow in His footsteps. I love the temple. In it I can feel completely at peace and separate from the evil of the world. The feeling I get while in there is indescribable. It is something that I want everyone to feel and I want to help them get to the temple. I love my family and the privilege to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I attend my church meetings every Sunday and always strive to keep the commandments as well as to live the teachings of the prophets. I never participate in athletic events on Sunday and use that time to be with my family or studying the scriptures. I visit the homes of families monthly to share a message with them about the gospel and to see that they are taken care of and do not need any assistance. I look for opportunities to share my beliefs with friends around me who may not know much about The Church. I seek to attend the temple as often as possible. I strive to be an example of Christ to those I come in contact with and to share His love with them.
