Hi I'm Jared

I love hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors (except bugs). I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the middle child from a family of 5 boys and 2 girls. Some of my favorite childhood memories are when our family went on Saturday outings. We didn't have much money so our parents took us on day trips to the mountains and desserts. We hiked, explored, and learned to love Heavenly Father's creations. My favorite things to do are being in the outdoors, photography, and spending time with family and friends. When I'm hiking in the mountains or in the dessert I want to capture that memory by taking pictures. I like to spend time learning about hunting and fishing. Two years ago I tried archery for the first time and fell in love with it. I enjoy shooting my bow whenever I have some free time.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 6 years old I rode my bike out into the street and was hit by a truck. A neighbor saw the accident happen from his window. He told my parents that he was sure I would be dead when he got to me. Miraculously, when he found me, I had a few scratches on my legs but everything else seemed to be fine. I know that I was protected by Heavenly Father that day. He has since protected me a few other times throughout my life. I have felt His love for me and that He has a reason for me to be alive today. I don't know that reason, but I have faith that if I live as He wants me to, I can be an instrument in His hands. I have a testimony that He is a loving Father and knows me and my needs. Just like I have felt his protective care, I feel His guidance in my everyday life. I am leaving soon to serve a mission in Paraguay. I want His children to know this truth as well. The gospel of Jesus Christ is a gospel of love and peace. It is through Heavenly Father's Plan of Salvation that we can be united as families and live with Him forever.

How I live my faith

I live in a neighborhood with lots of young men. We have a great scouting program with dedicated leaders who want to see us grow up to be faithful men. They've taught me that to be a good leader you have to love what you do and love others. While we had a great time each week learning new skills and going on fun adventures we always included doing some kind of service for someone. Scouting has helped me live as a righteous priesthood holder.
