Hi I'm Andrea

I'm a missionary in Ventura, California. I'm a health educator. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah with a full house! I have seven brothers and one sister, and I'm lovin' every minute of it! I absolutely love spending time with my family, being active outdoors, and educating the community about pregnancy and reproductive health. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education in April 2014 then decided to serve a mission. I am currently serving a full-time LDS mission in Ventura, California Spanish speaking and I love it! I have met wonderful people and have come closer to Christ by serving others.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church my whole life. My parents were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, I was baptized when I turned 8-years-old, and enjoyed attending church. When I was 20-years-old I decided to gain a testimony for myself instead of relying on others' like my parents and church leaders. The summer before my last year of college I made a goal to know what was true for myself before school started again in the fall. I don't know why I kept putting it off but just before fall semester was starting I read Alma 32: 26-27. 26 Now, as I said concerning faith—that it was not a perfect knowledge—even so it is with my words. Ye cannot know of their surety at first, unto perfection, any more than faith is a perfect knowledge. 27 But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words. I decided that night to "experiment upon [His] words, and exercise a particle of faith..." I prayed to my Heavenly Father and asked him if what I lived and loved my whole life was true. And after living more than two whole decades, I finally found out that it was true. Now a year later, I am serving a mission to share this testimony and let others know God's wonderful plan for His children!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. Christ was the ultimate example of helping others. I've served in many callings in the Church (presidencies, activities coordinator, primary teacher) and currently I am serving a mission in California! I love sharing the gospel with people because it has influenced every good thing in my life and I want others to have that happiness as well.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Andrea
My family is the most important and cherished thing I have in my life. Mormons believe families can be sealed together for eternity - literally bound to one another forever and ever! So even when we die we can see our family members again. My parents were sealed in the temple. This means they'll be together forever, even after death. It also means their children, my 8 siblings and I, were "born in the covenant" meaning we're also sealed to my parents and other siblings. I am obsessed with my family! I absolutely love spending time with each and every member of my family, including in-laws, nieces, nephews, etc. I love knowing I won't run out of time being with my family. Even after I die I get to be with my favorite people because of the beautiful sealing power! Show more Show less
