Hi I'm Rachel McDougal

I'm from Riverton, Utah. I love to sing, laugh, and live life on the front row. I'm a Mormon

About Me

Hi! I'm a college student still trying to make the wonderful decision of what to study. I love to play and watch sports, especially basketball. I also enjoy singing, reading, exercising at the gym, cooking delicious food, and spending time with my friends and family. You can often find me jammin' to a favorite country song while doing chores or walking down the street. And I hope to someday learn how to water ski and go horseback riding through the hills. I like to have fun, try new things, and I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of this church because I love Jesus Christ and I want to follow him. Throughout my life, I have found peace and strength through reading the Book of Mormon, praying, and attending church meetings. I am so grateful to be a member of this church, with a living prophet who receives revelation from God to guide us in our lives. And I am grateful to have priesthood ordinances and covenants, like baptism and temple ordinances, done by the proper authority of God that allow me to one day return to my Heavenly Father. Through this gospel, I understand my purpose, and why I am here and what I can become. It gives me vision, a goal to reach for, and a knowledge that God is with me every step of the way. In the end of the Book of Mormon, the prophet Moroni gives us a promise that if we will ask, we can know that the Book of Mormon is true by the power of the Holy Ghost. And we can know "the truth of all things" by the power of the Holy Ghost as well if we seek and ask. I did read the Book of Mormon, and I did ask, and I do know that it is true. But my answer didn't come all at once. It came piece by piece, a little bit at a time, as I kept reading and studying and doing my best. God gave me "line upon line", all that I could handle at the time, and I continue to learn and understand more each day. The Holy Ghost has given me peace and knowledge and guidance from the Book of Mormon a little bit at a time, and I do know that it is true. God loves us and he always answers prayers. But sometimes our answers don't come all at once. We have to listen and keep moving forward with faith, knowing that a loving Heavenly Father will always give us the answers we need, when we need them.

How I live my faith

I love to be involved and meet new people. I also have really enjoyed serving my community and in my ward. I tutored in a 3rd grade class at an elementary school during my winter semester. I also have served in callings in my student wards and as a visiting teacher. Now I am very excited to serve as a missionary and invite people to come unto Christ. I love my Savior, and I love people, and its a lot of fun to be able to serve, make friends, and in a small way make the world a better place.
