Hi I'm Tyson Stoker

I grew up in Boise, Idaho. I'm a mormon.

About Me

My name is Tyson and I am about to go and serve as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for 2 years in southern California. Being from Idaho I love to ski as well as kayak. I also play lacrosse and tennis. I just graduated from high school and will be attending BYU after my mission to pursue a career as either an Orthopedic surgeon or an emergency physician.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this church. I just know that the commandments that are given are all for my benefit and will only help me. I know that what is taught is true. I know the messages that we hear from the apostles and prophets are God's will and that they truly receive instruction from Him on how to guide our church. The Book of Mormon is also true and is another source of direction in my life when I faithfully read it. I also love knowing that I can pray to my Heavenly Father any time I need and he will hear and answer me.

How I live my faith

Growing up in the church has definitely presented opportunities to do things that I normally wouldn't have done. I have always been doing service projects around the community, speaking in public for talks during sacrament, and teaching others in my ward by hometeaching or in sunday school. The activities that we do as youth is just a great way to have fun with others in a good environment and build relationships with others. I had a calling where I was on a council that planned activites for the youth of the entire stake. We ended up having a big youth conference with guest speakers, classes, gsmes, and a dance. We also planned stake dances for the youth throughout the year which provided opportunities them to invite their non member friends to come and have fun. We also went around to every ward and gave talks based on the missiom statement that we made as a council for the stake that year. I also taught a few families in the ward once a month and helped them with whatever they needed as their hometeacher. We also took the sacrament to the members in an assisted living home that were unable to make it to church every week.
