Hi I'm Ethan Morin

Hello. I'm an American. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a kid from Wyoming who loves life. I like to find the humor in things and truly believe that laughter is the best medicine, even if nobody really laughs at my jokes. I have small ears. I love my home and I'm proud to be an American. I love to camp and do many other things in the outdoors such as throwing things, riding bikes, and playing with fire. I also really like sports, although I'm not too great at any of them. I like to exercise and be a healthy person. I used to not eat very many vegetables until recently, and now I even eat tomatoes! I like to eat lots of good food and I seem to be hungry most of the time. I find lots of enjoyment in music. I love all kinds of music from cool jazz to punk rock. I like to try to play music, and I really like to listen to it. I like to read books. I don't think there are many things better than eating pizza with all of my friends and family. Also I am currently serving in the Tennessee Knoxville Mission. I love being able to devote all of my time and energy to the work of Salvation, because of all the things that I love in life, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the thing that brings me the most joy. I have a strong testimony that Jesus Christ is our Savior, and I love helping people to learn about Him. Even though I can't see him or talk to him, I have peace in my life that comes from my knowledge that he knows me. I feel my Savior's love, and I know he feels the same about everyone as he does me and I want to people feel that love.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. The joy I feel when I am doing what is right is hard to put into words, but it's wonderful, and it keeps me going. I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me, knows me personally, and wants the best for me. He has a plan for me, and because I am his son I have great potential. I know that Jesus Christ also loves me, and I am grateful for the ultimate sacrifice that he made for me. He is the reason that I have the opportunity to live up to my potential and to overcome whatever trials I have in my life. I am thankful for the Holy Ghost in my life and the guidance he brings me, and his ability to teach me. I know that we have everything we need to succeed in this life, we just have to use it. I know that The Book Of Mormon is true and it testifies of Christ and contains his true gospel in it's fullness. It has the answers to all of life's questions and can do amazing things in our lives. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God, and although he appears to be in charge of this church, Jesus Christ is the true leader of this church. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel of Jesus Christ to this earth, and he was a true prophet of God as well. I know that the Priesthood is the power of God and I am humbled and grateful for it in my life. I have had the opportunity to bless others and have others bless me through the Priesthood. I know that families really can be together forever, and I am extremely grateful for this, because I love my family very much. I know that although we go through tribulations, we can learn and grow from them, and if we endure to the end and live our lives in the best way possible, I know we will someday be able to live again with Heavenly Father. This church helps me to take my faith in Jesus Christ and put it into action. It helps me to grow and to be the man that God needs me to be. I am a Mormon because this church has brought me so much closer to Jesus Christ and that is what I want.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through the things that I say and do. I know a few of the expectations and plans my Heavenly Father has for me and I try my hardest to live up to them. I try to be an example to those around me no matter where I am, be it at home, church, school, or work. I try to live up to all of the promises I have made by remembering Jesus Christ and being a representative of him at all times. Life gets scary and difficult at times, but I try to always live like Jesus Christ because through him I find the peace and purpose that I need. A lot of what I do to live my faith consists of small daily decisions that I hope to someday form habits from. As I pray and communicate often with my Father in Heaven, I feel his Spirit and draw closer to him. As I read the word of God in the scriptures, he teaches me and helps me know what I need to do. I try to listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost so that he can help me see what I can do to help lift those around me. I also live my faith by serving as a full time missionary in the Tennessee Knoxville mission. I live my faith by helping others live theirs. Serving a mission helps me to live my faith because it involves so much sacrifice. I try every day to forget about the things that I want and the things that I think I need, so that I can do what God wants and help others receive what they need. In submitting my will to the Lord's, I am keeping the promises I have made to be a witness of Jesus Christ and to live like him. Overall, I strive to be the best I can be.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Ethan Morin
I believe in the Bible because I have felt the Holy Spirit of God manifest the truth of it's words to my heart and mind. I believe that the Bible is the Word of God, written down by men called of God in ancient times. When I read the Bible, I feel the Holy Ghost. I feel close to Jesus Christ as I study his life. I love to read the words of Christ as spoken by Christ and as spoken by His chosen Prophets and Apostles. In the Bible, I see the way Christ lived, and I can strive to live like Him. I can become more like Christ by knowing more about Him. I love my Redeemer and I love to learn about the person He was, and about the sacrifice that He made for me. I am grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ that is revealed in the Bible, and I am grateful for the peace and comfort that I find in it's pages. Show more Show less

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Ethan Morin
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has 12 Apostles because it is the same church that Jesus Christ himself established in the time that he was on the Earth. Jesus called 12 worthy, righteous men to assist Him in caring for His sheep. The Apostles serve as special witnesses of Jesus Christ and stand as firm examples of his ministry and Atonement for the people. We are blessed to have 12 Apostles today to be those witnesses for us, and to help us remember Christ and understand his purpose. They help us understand the Scriptures and the things that Christ taught when He was on the Earth, and they give us direction that we can apply in our lives to be able to be closer to our Savior.
