Hi I'm Benjamin

I was born in San Diego and raised in an Anti-LDS family here in Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a high school graduate who enjoys Ultimate frisbee, video games, and I love foreign music or lesser known styles such as: ska, ranchero, electronic and classical. I really like Science and Computers. I really enjoy any core knowledge really and war history really interests me.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon for many reasons. The Lord has blessed me with a good family and an inquisitive mind. I wasn't raised part of any church and didn't really have a high moral value of anything. I only thought of myself, and because of this I fell into a lot of bad habits. I started drinking at the age of 14 and started doing drugs at the age of 15. I did that for 3 years before I even thought about how it was affecting me and my family and friends. I brought a lot of them down with me and realized that none of us were really happy. This was my Senior year of high school and so I decided to get more involved with my school. I joined the Improv troupe and met my now best friend. I couldn't help noticing how happy he and all my other friends in this group and saw one common element, they had a relationship with God. Being raised in an Anti family though I didn't want to be LDS for fear of being disowned so I joined my grandparents church in an effort to form that connection and remain on good terms with my family. Admittedly I was happier but I still didn't feel right. After a couple months of living with my best friend's family I had grown inquisitive of their beliefs. Why did they believe what they believe? My friend told me to meet with the missionaries and I did. It all just made sense to me and felt right but I still had that internal struggle of family vs. faith. I finally talked to my mom about it and she broke down in front of me. It was hard to see but I decided to join the Church anyway. Ever since being baptized I have not once doubted that choice. I remain on exceptional terms with my mom and I honestly feel closer to her than ever. Heavenly Father has shown her the happiness I now have and the comfort and peace I have acquired. I have never been so sure of something in my life and I will live in this church until I die. It's blessed everyone around me as well and I know this is where I belong. I'm where I need to be.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a teacher for the young adult men. I am also the conductor for the Men's choir in my ward. Other than that I just serve my ward like any other member wherever I can.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Benjamin
The Mormon church is a Christian church. We believe in Christ's Ministry and all His teachings. He taught us to be giving and charitable. In fact, I don't think I go a Sunday without hearing the words "Christ-like attributes". Meaning, trying to live like Christ did. Our church gives to all who are in need. We believe we are all God's children and should treat each other equally. We are taught to "live to serve" and I think everyone should be like that. Show more Show less
