Hi I'm Sherry

Army wife; raised four children living in Europe, Panama, and throughout the United States; loving life as a fulltime grandma.

About Me

I am a small-town country girl at heart, but spent my adult life living around the world because of my husband’s career—and loving it. My bachelor’s degree is in Home and Family Development which came in handy raising four active children. I love to paint folk art and learned various Dutch and German painting styles while living in those countries. I enjoy making quilts; especially quilts for our grandchildren that include their birth photo and other family pictures.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in an active Latter-day Saint family, but have come to know for myself that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth. My ancestors joined our church shortly after it was organized and crossed the plains in covered wagons and handcarts. I will always be grateful for their sacrifices. I know that the church is true because I have studied, prayed, and received that witness from the Holy Ghost. I have seen the fruits of the gospel in my life and in the lives of others, including our children and grandchildren. The gospel of Jesus Christ has enriched every aspect of my life.

How I live my faith

I love being involved in community and church volunteer service. I had the opportunity to serve in many capacities that included Cub Scout leader, Parent Teachers Association President in San Francisco and the Netherlands, as well as many positions of service within our church. I found true joy in my life by striving to live the precepts as taught by Jesus Christ. My husband and I have been asked to serve a humanitarian service mission in the Dominican Republic and are thrilled with the opportunity to serve those good people.
