Hi I'm Palmer

I've grown up all over America as an "army brat" among many cultures from east to west. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have recently graduated from high school and I have moved to Japan since then. I love photography. I have an adopted Japanese sister, and a fraternal twin who is also going on his mission. I have lived all over the US, because my dad is in the Army. I've never lived in one home for even 5 years, so I have no idea what it's like to live in one place for very long. But I have gotten to know many people because of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the Mormon church and have been in it since I was born. But I choose to continue being a Mormon and a member of this church because of the happiness and peace it brings to me as I live by its standards. I have heard so many people talk about their experiences and their life in the church and how it has blessed them, and I have wanted that for myself. I have also had a few experiences in the church that have helped me know it's true. I have fallen short many, many, MANY times. Nobody is perfect, and I am definitely NOT an exception. But out of all the decisions I have made in life, there is one thing I did that I do right. And that is to turn to Christ in my times of need. Nothing else in the world gives me more comfort and guidance than Christ, and I feel these things as I live according to the church's standards. Nothing else in the world has brought me more joy than this church. I have moved more than 13 times, and in every place we lived, we attended the Mormon church. And in every meeting we attended, the feelings of happiness and friendliness have always been there. It never changed. And while I have been out serving my mission, I have come to learn much more for myself about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, especially as I have helped others and as I have studied the Bible and the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a church mission, teaching people about Christ in the Tennessee Knoxville Mission, and helping people to use His Atonement to better their lives and feel His peace. And I love it!

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Palmer
From my own experience as a Mormon missionary, I proselyte because I find it to be very important. I also do it because there is nothing that makes me happier in my life than helping others and teaching them about my beliefs. I'm not a missionary because I have to be one, but because I want to be one. As I have grown up in the church and lived the standards they ask us to, I have felt happier in life and I feel like I have a great purpose here as I'm living my life. As I've studied the scriptures to understand Christ, gone to church for more understanding, and prayed for comfort, guidance, peace, and answers to my questions, I have felt Christ's love for me personally as a person. There has never been a greater feeling in my heart than that of Christ's love for me and His Atonement. I feel I can do anything if Christ is there for me. And that is why I am serving MY mission. I want to share this knowledge with others who do not have it, and are struggling to stay happy in life. I know they can feel that exact same peace that I do if they were to understand Christ's Atonement and knew how to use it to better themselves and make themselves happier. I love everyone around me, and I see them all as my brothers and sisters. And I feel I have an obligation to share this knowledge with them, because this gospel is not meant for a select few, but for everyone. Show more Show less
