Hi I'm Xander

I live in SoCal and love to surf. I love my friends and family. The way I live is a happy way because, "I am a Mormon."

About Me

I love to surf, play volleyball, play soccer, and skate. I love my family and friends, and having their support and love in my life. I have been accepted to Brigham Young University and will be attending after a two year mission in Portugal. Being a little odd, I love school, the social and the learning. I enjoy sciences and math; specifically, Chemistry and Calculus. I am the sort of person who is competitive, daring, adventurous, a tad shy, and always trying to excel in all I do. I work hard, and yearn for the companionship of others.

Why I am a Mormon

I live my faith because I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior, and that he suffered and died for my sins that I might one day return to live with Him after this life. I believe that there is only one Church on this earth with the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and that some other religions have but a fraction of the truth. That everyone need only ask our Heavenly Father through prayer, having faith in Jesus Christ and they will receive an answer, that this church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. That the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored by a Prophet of God, prophets just as in the days of Moses and Peter, by a man named Joseph Smith who sincerely sought to know which church was true among all the denominations of Christianity that had differing views and truths. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God, and that Jesus Christ continues to direct this church today through revelation given to a prophet of God today. I believe the Book of Mormon to be the Word of God, comparable with the Bible. That Joseph Smith, through God's help, translated the Book of Mormon from plates that God directed Joseph to. That these plates contain a record from around 700 B.C. to 421 A.D. that was put together by descendants of Jews from Israel who traveled to the Americas under God's direction and command. That we today have these writings present in the Book of Mormon to guide us in our lives and find happiness. I was born into this church, but I believe the way I do because I have prayed to know that it is true and I felt that this Church was true by the Holy Spirit. I have faith in Jesus Christ, and love His Gospel, and continue to feel the love that Heavenly Father has for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving my best to keep the commandments of God. I consider these commandments and values and standards given by God to keep me healthy, emotionally well, happy, and faithful. My faith is shown in the private integrity of everyday. I pray to our Heavenly Father, I go to church, I read God's Word, I strive to follow Christ, and following the teachings of the Lord given through the leaders of the church. In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints it is structured to encourage others to follow Christ by meeting often for church, but also for activities that unite us a people to do good and enjoy life by living the way we do. Such activities include youth groups, programs, and callings that run the church and serve the community. Besides having fun, these groups focus on doing service, forming friendships, and learning to be better people. By participating in these many activities and programs through the church, it has made me into a better person, taught me life skills, and created friendships I will cherish forever. By going to church consistently and purposefully, I have a stronger outlook on life and a mindset that enables me to strive to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.
