Hi I'm Charles Teames III

I'm an aspiring scientist, writer, medical practitioner and humorist. Despite all that I want to be, I'll always be a Mormon.

About Me

I consider myself to be a pretty average millennial teenager. I enjoy jazz, romantic-era classical, and indie music. I've worked as an independent cancer researcher. I collect books, fountain pens and nostalgic memories of decades I wasn't even alive for. Politically I consider myself to be a radical moderate who doesn't see why those two categories have to be mutually exclusive. I believe that because I'm different I'm making a difference. Oh, and I'm spending two years of my life serving the Lord as a missionary in the Great Ohio Columbus Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. So, you know, nothing too out of the ordinary.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of this church because I love every aspect of it and I know with absolute certainty that it is the church that Christ established. I'm a scientific person. I like to have definitive evidence that what I believe is true. Despite all that has been said about the church, despite the heated debate about archaeological evidences, controversial history, and political issues and despite the opposition I personally face every day, I know that I am a member of the true church. Why? Because I've sought for the greatest authority of all to receive a definitive witness. I prayed and asked God, The Eternal Father, if the Book of Mormon is His word. The answer I've received time and time again is a resounding "Yes!" and because of that I have no doubt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints really is lead by Christ, that I can receive eternal joy by following his precepts and that I can live with my family forever. I have no need to fear, nor any inclination to be lost lost amid the tide of moral relativism and narcissism that is filling the world. I know where to look for my rock and my foundation.

How I live my faith

I do my best to live my faith in every aspect of my life. As a currently serving missionary I take it upon myself to follow the example of Christ in order to set an example for others. I strive to serve and teach as He would serve and teach. I know that the redeeming power of the Savior can bring happiness to everyone and I seek to help others access that power. Giving humanitarian service and being kind to all is a huge part of missionary life, but the greatest service I can render is to challenge others to accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ and live his commandments so as to receive the blessings that I know will bring them long term happiness.
