Hi I'm Moises Tovar

My family and I are from Mexico. I have a passion for film and theater. I love acting. I'm an actor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have always had an interest in acting and film. It's ironic because at a young age I was very shy. But still I dreamed of being a "famous movie star" and performing on stage. My dreams started to come true when I got my very first role in a high school play based on a novel by Agatha Christie called "The Hollow". It was that performance that helped me to finally break away from my shyness and my love for stage performance blossomed tremendously! Since then I've performed in other high school productions. I'm currently working on a degree in film production. After taking acting classes I was able to work on film sets as an extra. Had the privilege of working as an extra for the LDS bible videos seen on lds.org, worked as an extra in a couple of sci-fi films, a Disney film, and a short film for a film contest. I've also appeared in a TV commercial and have done voice over projects. My favorite directors include Alfred Hitchcock, Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, and Tim Burton. While I enjoy all sorts of film genres, animated features are one's that I enjoy the most. I love all the Disney classics my two favorite one's being Bambi and The Lion King. I enjoy the wonderful growth of DreamWorks animated features (Shrek, Madagascar, and How to Train Your Dragon). I also love anime and manga! I always loved the unique art style of Japanese shows and comics Eventually I want to write and direct my own films and hope to entertain and inspire the audience watching my films.

Why I am a Mormon

The greatest blessings I've enjoyed being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the peace of mind and the hope that the gospel of Jesus Christ provides. Thanks to the teachings of Christ and of his prophets I am able to find understanding and strength in all the challenges and difficulties I face everyday. It gives me a higher perspective on my struggles and allows me to see them as learning experiences that strengthens my character; things that help me become more like my Savior. I have found comfort and I am always able to say with confidence and optimism, "it's okay," "everything will be alright," "Things will work out,"

How I live my faith

We just had a new LDS church organized especially for the Young Single Adults between the ages 18 to 30 who live in my area. I am very much excited because this allows me and others to serve and bless people of the same age group as us. I'm very excited to reach out and greet everyone who visits us and create new friendships. I have been given a calling to watch over the Sunday school classes and make sure that lessons are being taught in a way that help increase our understanding of the doctrines taught in the Bible and in the Book of Mormon, to know how they apply to us as young single adults, and that when applied can help us increase our faith in Jesus Christ. My goal with the new church organized is to reach out, befriend, and fellowship; to do all that I can to help everyone feel welcomed, appreciated, loved, and be included in all the activities. Because of this great blessing, I have met wonderful people and to created special friendships with them. I now have a bit of a social life, we try to hang out as much as possible during the week! But as we do so we seek to include everyone and reach to everyone!

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Moises Tovar
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the suffering and agony he went through that has made salvation and forgiveness possible for us. Because he died and resurrected, all who have died will also resurrect. Thanks to His atonement if we have faith in him and are willing to repent of our sins, and follow his commandment to be baptized and receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost, he promises that we will be cleansed and be forgiven of our sins and be able to return back to his presence. He performed the atonement because he loves us and wants us to come to him. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

Moises Tovar
The Holy Ghost is the third member of the Godhead and is separate from God the Father and Jesus Christ. He only has a spirit body and not a physical body, this allows him to complete many important roles. He is a teacher, he can give us understanding of the teachings of Jesus Christ and can testify to our hearts the truth of all things. He is a guide, he can help us know good from evil, and as we seek for guidance in our everyday choices through sincere prayer he can let us know what we need to do that will bless us spiritually and temporarily. He is the comforter, he can bring peace to our minds and calm all our fears, and fills us with the hope that everything will be all right. I have come to appreciate the role of the Holy Ghost in my life and to enjoy of its companionship. Show more Show less
